2nd AeA EduAction Thematic Workshop
8th – 16th September 2007, Hyderabad, India

Aide et Action-South Asia is pleased to announce its 2nd AeA-EduAction Thematic Workshop for development professionals. The workshop aims at discussing current trends, providing in depth understanding and exposure to the field on selected themes.

1st Thematic Workshop organised by Aide et Action in 2006 was a grand success with participation of 128 professionals from 9 countries representing NGOs, INGOs and Government.

Objectives

  • To provide clarity on concepts and in depth understanding on the theme
  • To explore latest global trends, issues and developments in the theme
  • To provide learning through field exposure and immersion
  • To facilitate acquisition of skills in planning, implementation and monitoring of programs

Profile of Participants

The workshop is targeted at middle and senior level professionals from NGOs, INGOs, donor agencies, government departments, research and academic institutions.

Methodology

  • The workshop methodology would be participatory. Final content of each theme would be decided by the resource person and the participants jointly.
  • Case studies, sharing of best practices, peer learning, structured field exposure and immersion would form integral part of the workshop.
  • Extensive high quality and relevant reading material would be made available.
  • Medium of instruction would be English. Group translation facility would be available in some languages on special request.

Workshop Themes

Workshop would consist of the following 5 themes to be conducted simultaneously.

  • Quality Education through Community Participation
  • Inclusive Education: Approaches and Strategies
  • Promotion of Sustainable Livelihoods
  • Management of HIV/AIDS: Approaches and Strategies
  • PRA and Participatory Research

Each batch would consist of approximately 25 participants. Participants shall choose one theme depending upon their area of interest.

Timeframe

The workshop is scheduled during 8th to 16th September 2007. Participants would report preferably on 7th night or latest by 8th morning-9:00 AM and can plan their return journey on evening of 16th September.

Fee & Mode of Payment

  • The course fee is Rs. 18,000/- Indian and Euro 600 for international participants
  • Course fee would cover food and accommodation (twin sharing basis) for workshop duration, resource kit and travel to field
  • All fees should be remitted through account payee demand draft on favour of Aide et Action India (Private) Limited, payable at Chennai, India
